Beatriz Botero Arcila

Beatriz Botero Arcila is an Assistant Professor of Law at Sciences Po Paris Law School and a Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. She teaches and writes on law and technology, focusing on how digital innovations can enhance policymaking and economic development while also mitigating and preventing the risks they pose. Her interests include AI liability, open data and transparency governance, and the adoption of digital technologies in cities. Before joining Sciences Po Law School, she finished her doctoral degree in law at Harvard University. She also holds an LLB from the Universidad de los Andes, in Bogotá, Colombia, where she is from. A 2024 International Strategy Forum Fellow, she has consulted with institutions like the World Bank and Mozilla Foundation. Professor Botero Arcila is the co-founder of The Edgelands Institute, an interdisciplinary organization focused on studying and understanding the digitization of security in different cities around the world.
