Jessica Gillooly
Senior Policing Fellow
Jessica Gillooly is an Assistant Professor of Sociology & Criminal Justice at Suffolk University. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology & Public Policy from the University of Michigan.
Jessica’s research centers on the role of the 911 dispatch system in criminal justice. One thread of her research examines the function of the 911 call-taker in mediating caller requests for police services, and their impact on policing in the field. Another thread explores the public’s reliance on 911 and identifies potential policy reforms aimed at rethinking the current dispatch-and-response system.
